EBONFORM · Artwork Story · 2026
Spring never announces its ending. You only notice, much later, that the light has changed.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PIECE
Jawānī-e-Rafta joins jawānī, youth, with rafta, gone. It grew from an Urdu poem about a love that is still here while youth stands apart, and about how autumn feels different once spring has passed.
اس طرف محبت بھی وہ، جوانی بھی ہے کچھ الگ
شاید بھول گیا ہوں میں، بہار کے بعد خزاں لگتا الگ
That love remains, youth stands quite apart, maybe I forgot, autumn changes the heart.
HOW THE ARTIST TELLS THE STORY
On the left, the lines ripple close together, one curve chasing the next, like the pulse of young passion. Then they fold into long layered ribbons that wind toward the base. Pointed forms rise at the top, still reaching. SaifX Ebonform lets nothing break here. It only slows, the way a season does.

HOW A GALLERY WOULD SHOW IT
Hang it at eye level in a quiet place with room around it. Soft side light finds the folds between the ribbons and lets the shadows tell part of the story. An ornate floral scroll is carved around the edge, leaf after leaf, and it holds the whole scene like a memory.
THE WOOD AND THE MAKING
Every curve is a separate layer of natural wood, carved at its own depth, with the grain running through each ribbon. Jawānī-e-Rafta is an Edition of 50, measuring 3 × 3 ft (91.44 × 91.44 cm). Read more in how EBONFORM creates a collector piece.

FINAL THOUGHT
