Dar-e-Intizār: The Wood Relief About a Door Left Open
Dar-e-Intizār joins door and waiting in a layered wood relief about misjudged love. Read the poem and the carving behind it.
Some sorrows are never spoken.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PIECE
Dar-e-Intizār joins dar, door, with intizār, waiting. It grew from an Urdu poem: a heart no charm could reach is called faithless, circumstances change, and the door stays open but love never walks in.
HOW THE ARTIST TELLS THE STORY
A pink and sage-green figure leans into a hand-textured panel, with a fan of feathered strokes trailing behind it. A zigzag carved border closes around the scene. SaifX Ebonform keeps the figure close to the panel, as if it is listening at the door.

HOW A GALLERY WOULD SHOW IT
Hang it at eye level in a quiet place, perhaps near a doorway of your own. Soft side light brings out the hand-textured panel and the feathered strokes behind the figure.
THE WOOD AND THE MAKING
The relief is built in layers and carved from natural wood, with the grain visible through the stain. It is an Edition of 25. See why texture and relief matter in wall art.

WHAT THE COLLECTOR RECEIVES

FINAL THOUGHT
