THE HEART AND THE QUEST
On the left, a dome of small colored cells stands for the heart and mind: every trial, every doubt, every setback that tests us. From it, the great blue form moves forward, crossed by a single dark line like a path. This is the quest, the moment determination breaks through stillness.
THE RESOLVE
On the right, sharp orange strokes rise upward. This is firm intent, the part of us that will not stay down. Below, two zigzag legs hold the whole work up, the foundation on which a person becomes an example for others.
THE WOOD
Carved in layered relief from natural [Heritage Natural Pine] wood, stained thin so the grain shows through every color, and edged with a border of small chevrons.
